'Introduction to Botox' - Training Course
A subsidised course in Botox Administration is available to all nurse practitioners who register to use the Botox Administration Remote Consultation Service from Harley Aesthetics.
The ‘Introduction to Botox’ course focuses on practical experience with ‘hands-on’ administration of Botox to at least two models per practitioner.
The courses are small and informal with a maximum of 6 practitioners attending the course. It is very useful if the nurse practitioner has previous experience of dermal fillers.
The courses are currently subsidised and cost £400 per person.
This one-day practical training course will provide you with:
- A thorough introduction to Botox in Aesthetic Practice
- Demonstrations by highly experienced practitioners
- Unlimited practice on a facial prosthesis
- Hands-on experience in the use of Botox during training.
- Guidance on the implications to your business – regulatory guidelines and support.
Once the Deposit has been paid, pre-course material will be sent out to allow delegates the opportunity to ask questions about the pre-course reading and consequently have a more detailed knowledge of Botox treatment. All delegates will also receive a comprehensive resource pack on the day of the course. Prior to the course you will be required to provide your NMC and RCN numbers.

BOTOX ADMINISTRATION REMOTE CONSULTATION SERVICE
This service has been developed with specific reference to the M.H.R.A guidelines for the supply and administration of Botox in cosmetic procedures (ref: www. mhra.gov.uk) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s response to the M.H.R.A guidelines.
The service allows for a Nurse Practitioner to administer Botox under the directions of an Aesthetic Doctor. The Aesthetic Doctor is not present for a face to face consultation but conducts a Remote Consultation by telephone or Video Conference.
When a RGN aesthetic practitioner consults with a patient who is requesting Botox treatment for Aesthetic Enhancement the patient will complete a ‘General Consultation Form’, which includes a detailed Medical History. If indicated the nurse practitioner will then discuss all the relevant aspects of Botox Treatment. If the patient having discussed and understood the treatment wishes to proceed, the nurse practitioner will then contact the Aesthetics Doctor, (either by phone or video conference) who will then carry out a remote consultation as out-lined in the M.H.R.A guidelines. The ‘General Consultation Form’ will be faxed or e-mailed to the doctor.
The doctor will then have sufficient information to accept the patient as his or her own and if appropriate give ‘patient specific’ instructions for the administration of Botox. The prescription would be signed by the Doctor and the product dispatched for administration by the nurse practitioner.
All further administration of Botox to the specific patient would require a further remote consultation to ensure any relevant changes in health and medication are discussed before further treatment is undertaken. A Patient Group Directive is not applicable to the administering of Botox for Aesthetic Enhancement.
The paperwork required for the Remote Consultation Service is completely standardized and is provided by Harley Aesthetics. Copies of the paperwork are retained by the company and by the Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner.
The service is available 7 days a week on a provisional appointment basis which is both flexible and efficient.
